I feel that there is a difference between America and Americans. The most obvious reason would be that right now the government is run by Republicans, and yet there is part of America in which Americans are Democratic. This brings in such issues as those in power are completely in favor of the War in Iraq, whereas throughout America people are seen protesting the war. Another issue would be abortion, the Republicans believe in Pro-life, where the Denmocratics believe in Pro-Choice. Therefore the difference between the way America is run with Americans is that not all Americans are for what the American Government does. A lot of Americans are not even aware of what the American Government is doing overseas. It was said in the book, that the reason there is infuriation towards America is becasue of the decisions that the government is making and now becasue the of the people-the Americans, but the fact that America wishes to have control over everything. The country seems to want to have a solution to all problems, even when their help is not necessarily wanted or needed. Just as in the War in Iraq, it is called Operation Iraqi Freedom, but why are we the ones to decided how their government should be run? Why are we helping if help is not necessarily wanted? This is the reason that some places hate America, not Americans.
